Bringing the World to Busan-Jinhae: Inside the 2026 BJFEZ Investment Promotion Seminar

On 25 June 2026, the Emerald Hall of Lotte Hotel Seoul became the meeting point for close to one hundred decision makers drawn from global logistics, foreign diplomatic missions, and leading international chambers of commerce. The occasion was the 2026 BJFEZ Investment Promotion Seminar, convened by the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority to introduce its investment environment and long-term vision to an international audience and to surface fresh investment demand among the firms best placed to act on it. W Korea served as the official organiser and production company, responsible for the planning, production, and on-site delivery of the programme from start to finish.

For an event designed to attract foreign direct investment, the room itself carried a message. Bringing senior representatives of government, global enterprise, and the diplomatic community into a single hall, and holding their attention through a substantive programme, is a discipline in its own right. It is the discipline W Korea was engaged to deliver.

More Than a Briefing: Why the Room Mattered

The Investment Promotion Seminar was conceived to present the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone as a premier destination for global integrated logistics, and to open a direct line between the Zone and the international business community. Rather than a conventional briefing, the day was structured as a strategic dialogue, one in which public agencies, resident enterprises, and prospective investors could engage with the same proposition in the same room.

Central to that proposition was the Authority's ambition to position the Zone at the intersection of sea, air, and rail, anchored by Busan Port, the forthcoming Gadeokdo New Airport and Jinhae New Port, and connected rail infrastructure. To give the concept substance, the Authority was joined on the programme by the agencies that bring it to life, including Busan Port Authority, the Gadeokdo New Airport Construction Authority, and Korea Ocean Business Corporation. Together they presented a Zone defined not by a single asset, but by the connectivity between them.

What Global Investors Came to Hear

The programme moved through the questions that matter most to an investor weighing a long-term commitment. The Authority opened with its investment environment and vision, then formalised a public-private memorandum of understanding with the law firm Kim & Chang to build a comprehensive investment-attraction ecosystem, a signal that support for incoming investors would extend well beyond the initial decision. A resident enterprise, Kendall Square, followed with its own experience as a working proof point of operating inside the Zone, lending the day the credibility that only an existing investor can provide.

From there, the agencies turned to the practical architecture of investment. Korea Ocean Business Corporation outlined financial support programmes for port and logistics infrastructure. The Gadeokdo New Airport Construction Authority set out the airport's progress and how it will connect into a wider regional infrastructure network. Busan Port Authority detailed the competitiveness of the port hinterland and the supply plan for the South Container hinterland.

Across these presentations, the Authority pointed to tangible land supply moving from plan to reality, including the South Container hinterland offering, sales at the Bobae district, and the first-phase completion of the Waseong district. It paired that pipeline with a full-lifecycle support framework that follows an investor from first interest through to settled operation, supported by a range of policy incentives. The message to the room was consistent throughout the day. This is a destination where the infrastructure, the land, and the support structures are arriving together, and where Gadeokdo New Airport and Jinhae New Port represent turning points that investors can plan around.

The audience reflected the ambition of the agenda. Global logistics companies including UPS, Maersk, Nippon Express, and C. Steinweg attended, alongside representatives of the embassies of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Denmark, Greece, Colombia, and Türkiye, and members of the American, European, and Italian chambers of commerce in South Korea. The breadth of that guest list, spanning multinational operators, six diplomatic missions, and three international chambers, is itself a measure of the interest the Zone is now drawing.

How W Korea Bridged BJFEZ to the World

Behind a programme of this composition sits a considerable body of work. In practice, W Korea's task was to bridge BJFEZ to the world, and it did so across four disciplines working as one: event management, public relations, international coordination, and branding and visual production. W KOREA led the project from initial planning through to final execution, overseeing conference management, venue operation, and the technical and stage production that allowed each presentation and the memorandum signing to land with clarity and weight. Branding and visual production gave the seminar a coherent identity across the hall and the screen, so that a multi-agency agenda read as a single, considered event rather than a series of separate updates. Registration and on-site operation kept a senior, international audience moving smoothly from arrival through to the closing exchanges.

International coordination ran through every stage. With global corporates, six embassies, and three international chambers in the room, alignment on protocol, sequencing, and language was essential, and dedicated VIP management ensured that high-level guests were received and supported to the standard such an audience expects. Each of these elements is easy to overlook when it works, which is the point of doing it well. The result was a seminar in which the content, and the Zone's proposition, could speak without friction.

The Event Management Behind a Seamless Day

The event's smooth delivery rested on close collaboration between W Korea, the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority, and the participating public agencies. Coordinating a shared programme across several government-affiliated organisations, each with its own message, materials, and speakers, calls for precise planning and steady communication in the days and hours before the doors open. That groundwork is rarely visible to the audience, and that invisibility is the measure of its success.

For the Authority, the seminar marked a starting point for expanding its cooperation network with global logistics firms, foreign missions, and chambers of commerce, and for advancing strategic investment around its priority districts as it works towards a connected, integrated logistics cluster. For W Korea, it was a further demonstration of what genuine end-to-end delivery of a high-level international event looks like in practice, from the first planning session to the final handshake on the floor.

What Comes Next

Investment promotion succeeds when credibility, content, and execution align. A compelling vision needs a setting that does it justice, and a serious audience needs an experience that respects their time. Delivering both, consistently and at this level, is the work W Korea exists to do.

As the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone advances towards its next chapter, W Korea remains committed to supporting governments, institutions, and global enterprises in delivering investment forums, international conferences, and business platforms that connect South Korea to the wider world. We are proud to have helped bring this vision into the room, and to continue building the platforms where economic development and global partnerships take shape.
